Settings reference
Every tab in Vault Settings and what it controls, plus what the account menu carries.
Vault Settings is one dialog with a left-hand menu. Which tabs appear depends on whether the vault is synced and whether the server has billing configured. Owners and admins see the management controls, and a plain member sees the same pages read-only.
The tabs
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| General | The identity of the open vault: its name, its folder, its sync state, and Turn on sync and sharing when it is still local |
| Vaults | Every vault on the account, with its state, and the danger zone actions: make local only, leave, delete, Reset local copy |
| Members and access | The roster, invitations, roles, the Everyone and New members rows, and each person's access and activity |
| Billing | Plan and seats. It appears only when the server has billing configured |
| MCP | The endpoint URL for this server, the tokens you have minted, the tools each connection can reach, and Revoke |
| Versioning | Version history settings for the vault |
| Import / Export | Bringing notes in, and taking them out |
| Appearance | Theme, content width, text size and the editor's line-number gutter |
Tabs that need sync
Members and access, MCP, Versioning and Billing all describe a Remote Vault, so on a local-only vault they point back to General and its Turn on sync and sharing button rather than showing empty pages.
The account menu
- Sign in and out, and the server the account belongs to, under Connection.
- Switch vault, which also opens on hover over the vault name or path in the sidebar.
- Pending invitations, and sending a bug report.
- Check for updates, with the version you are running.
